ALL ABOUT US

We are consumers of culture. We love high culture, we love low culture. But with the glut of music and film outlets populating the internet ether, At-Large Magazine aims to gather prose, poetry and art that creates a pop dialogue that frequently falls on deaf ears. We adore everyone from George Saunders to Louise Glück to Lypsinka and encourage everything from conventional to commercial to esoteric. Mostly, we want cocksure work that would scream its name from the rooftops of the Chrysler Building. But you're probably still confused. That's alright. Check out our issues. Then peruse our guidelines and see if your work would fit in with our grand vision.

We're currently accepting submissions for our Teeth Issue. Our reading period ends August 31, 2008; all submissions received thereafter will be considered for the following issue. Submissions can interpret the theme as broadly or specifically as needed.

FICTION/NONFICTION. All prose must be in Microsoft Word format, no more than 2,000 words. Column proposals are also welcomed.

POETRY. All poetry must be in a single Microsoft Word document. 4 poems per submission.

ART. Send artist statement and samples. All media is encouraged. Graphic novel proposals are also welcomed.

Include a brief cover letter with anything you feel we should know. If you don't follow these guidelines, no sweat. Publication isn't right for everyone.

Right now, we get no money. So if you get published, you get no money. However, you will be published among other luminaries and get a rather sparkly publication credit on your CV.

Submissions should be sent to atlarge (DOT) editors (AT) gmail (DOT) com. Subject lines should have the format TITLE / AUTHOR / GENRE. Replace capitalized words with their corresponding keyboard counterparts. You're smart enough to do all this. Send all inquiries to that address as well. Don't send in more than one submission at a time. We're busy people with lives, too.

Lovingly yours,
At-Large Editors
